Sentenced LA branch, here. We got alot of backlash for a story we published in our 0th issue — a review of the Ghostbusters game for the Nintendo entertainment System by super super famous author Tao Lin. After looking at Tao Lin’s Wikipedia page we see we may have messed up BIG time. He is pretty controversal. But when we read his story we felt wayy better about publishing the work……. he comes across as a total idiot and kinda creepy. We beleive Keeping his writing publically available on sentencedlit.com to be an act of philanthopy., Especially because our audience is mostly teen girls (thats what the analitics says). some of our young women readers already expressed that reading Ghostbusters (NES) helped them “know thine enemy” and navigate their interactions with Tao Lin or similar alt lit authors safely and without too much intence fear. Safety for our readers is our TOP concern here at Sentanced so we will continue to publish Tao Lin’s work as long as it makes him look bad: even if the writing style is not quite to our taste.
